Helping humans map a path to financial peace

As someone who coaches people to realise their financial ambitions, I often recommend clearly articulating what a ‘good’ financial future looks like.

What did I find?

We are often fearful to imagine a future where we’re debt-free and, heaven forbid, actually comfortably wealthy.

Enter the Sloth Map

I used to map out my own financial future with spreadsheets. I found these to be more overwhelming than reassuring.

So one day I decided to visually map out my financial future. The result was an insightful, albeit crude, flow chart.

My goals felt more real than they had ever felt before.

What goes into a Sloth Map?

Goals

A house? A wedding? A comfortable pension? You set financial goals that align with what you consider to be a ‘success’.

Budget

You confirm how much you’re able to set aside each month to meet your future goals, without sacrificing what makes life fun right now.

Actions

Get specific actions designed to get you from where you are now, to where you want to be. This may include what to save for first, where to save it, and for how long.

Scenarios

Plan for both the positive and the negative. Being made redundant? An emergency depletes your emergency fund? Feel reassured in knowing that you’ve already planned for it.
